My Living Room Just Got 41 Inches More Intimidating!!

Alright, fellow enthusiasts of sharp objects and questionable home decor choices, let's talk about the HMS Katana Sword. I saw this while browsing (as one does) and thought, "You know what's missing from my life? A full-sized, handmade, clay-tempered, Japanese sword." My rational brain took a tea break, and suddenly, this magnificent piece of T10 steel was on its way. When this arrived, the box was long and felt important. Opening it felt like a scene from a movie where the hero finally receives their legendary weapon. And let me tell you, this sword does not disappoint. It's stunning. The real hamon line is beautiful, the brass wave tsuba (handguard) is intricate, and the ray skin and silk-wrapped handle feels incredibly secure in your hand. It looks less like something you bought online and more like a museum piece that occasionally whispers ancient secrets (or maybe that's just the wind).Holding it for the first time is an experience. It has a weight and balance that feels... purposeful. Like it knows what it's for. My immediate urge was to dramatically swing it (in a safe, open area, obviously!) and maybe challenge a particularly stubborn dust bunny to a duel. Now, my daily life doesn't involve fighting off ninjas or samurai (thankfully). But I have found some creative uses. Opening ordered packages? This knife laughs at box tape. Slicing through junk mail? Effortless. Demonstrating the concept of "sharp" to a disbelieving friend? Highly effective (from a safe distance!). It's also a fantastic conversation starter. Guests tend to pause when they see a genuine, very sharp katana displayed in the living room. The craftsmanship is evident. It's handmade, clay tempered, and genuinely razor sharp right out of the box. It comes with a handsome hardwood saya (scabbard) that fits snugly. It feels like a tool built with respect for tradition and functionality. If you have an appreciation for Japanese swords, want a truly impressive and well-made piece (for display, practice, or very enthusiastic package opening), and are prepared for your home to feel significantly more epic, this katana is a fantastic acquisition. It's a beautiful, powerful object that brings a unique energy to the room. I'm thoroughly impressed.

Too short

Should be $160. They are increasing the price. I Paid $359. It's a decent sword but it's not evenly sharpened. The wrap is acceptable tight.Siwode makes a better sword cheaper and sharper. I was going to buy more of these but not with their increasing the price I don't find it worth trying their other blade geometry. Also their blades are short. They measure from tsuba and it feels like a wakizashi just loosing that half inch of length. The bad sharpening and short blade and handle is just not for me. That Saud it gets the job done and has a really great look and balance. (You can definitely sharpen it easy enough, it's extremely sharp at tip and 6inches down from tip )

Fully functional high quality traditional katana

A masterpiece of a sword. Light in hand, strong and flexible, great balance point. The quality of this katana is of a much more expensive one. The blade came unsharp toward the Kissaki along the Mono-Uchi (last third of the blade and main cutting edge) than toward the base, as should be. Sliced through paper like nothing as advertised. Fit perfectly into the Saya, a bit snug, takes a bit of force to draw the blade, but you want that as this will become easier with use. I got this for a practice sword, have yet to test the strength and quality of the steel against bamboo or ballistic man, but I've handled many swords and by the feel of it, I believe it will hold up. For anyone looking to start their sword journey, I would highly recommend this one over the other choices near this price on 100 Spartans.

If you’ve ever wanted a Katana, buy this now!

It is insane they are selling this for as cheap as they are. As a collector I always want to try “budget” blades to see what’s out there. This blade is no budget blade. Beautifully crafted grip to tip. It has good ergonomics and the wrapping on the handle is very pleasant. Balance is around where you would want it to be for this style of sword. Weight is very manageable and the balance offers support while swinging the weight around. WARNING: not a toy, replica, or display item. Although this thing needs to be sharped Will not bend or break under normal circumstances. For all the blade trolls saying “it chipped/bent/broke when I hit a giant rock” I can only say one thing: stop hitting rocks. Other than being reckless I do not see this having quality issues with normal use. Good starter for getting into Iiado or any other cutting sport. DO NOT sharpen yourself. The edge has been forged in, not machined or ground in after the mirror finish was achieved(see blade pic, I know it’s blurry but you can see there is no grinding on the blade). That being said, this needs to be worked on by a professional or someone with access and knowledge of the professional process. Now that I have mentioned that I can honestly say the blade came out of the box unsharp. Passed the paper test with flying colors. When running it through paper slowly I noticed no drag points so it would appear the blade is as close to uniform as a handmade item can be. Whoever forged this deserves a raise. As for the other metal pieces they appear to be machined but whoever finished them did a good job. All pieces of this item are as snug as can be, and barring hours and hours of actual use I do not see any part of this becoming loose. All in all 5 stars does not do this company justice. You can tell they take pride in their work and they want to deliver nothing but quality. Items do have limited customization in terms of the pieces added to the blade. From what I understand you can mix and match if you send an email to the company. In summary this is a fantastic product. Which is beautifully hand crafted and assembled with a razor sharp edge and wonderful assembly tolerances. I would take 5 of these over a 1k blade any day. Will it best an authentic 5k-20k+ blade, probably not; but for someone just getting into the hobby of collecting or competition it is an out of this world deal. I am so glad I found this company and will not hesitate to purchase through them again in the future. Great job ladies and gentlemen of this company, you have created an island of quality in a sea of disappointing blades. 10/10 stars
